Try Your Luck…Or Not

In addition to the traditional point-and-click, puzzle solving goodness of a classic adventure game, Sleuthhounds: Cruise incldues a number of specialty tasks to mix things up a bit. In the ship’s atrium, for example, is a fountain into which coins can be tossed to receive daily horoscope-esque fortunes.
Winning a fortune involves clicking a button start a toss strength meter filling. Clicking the button again will toss a coin at the fountain. If tossed at the right point, the coin lands in the fountain funnel and a fortune is dispensed.
I often enjoy when adventure games mix the format up a bit and include other types of tasks to do from the usual. That said, some players find these types of challenges annoying or stressful to do, which goes counter to the fun that I’d like them to have playing my game. Consequently, any tasks like these are completely optional in the game and do not have to be completed to progress. The best of both worlds!
