Dressings All Dressed Up

Progress continues to be made on the outstanding specialty screens in Sleuthhounds: Cruise. The most complex of those is probably the one for Dressings of Fruits and Veggies. Dressings is a turn-based strategy game inspired by the classic Heroes of Might and Magic III. In it, the opposing forces of fruits and vegetables are trying to mulch one another for ultimate produce dominance.

In keeping with the point-and-click theme of the Cruise game as a whole, Dressings is also completely point-and-click. Given its turn-based nature, players have the opportunity to ponder their moves. So, no worries about the game suddenly transforming into a frantic action fest.

Despite keeping <>Dressings in the same point-and-click pattern as the rest of the game, I realize that not all players will be interested in this game within a game. Consequently, playing Dressings is part of an optional side investigation in the broader Cruise game. There is one instance of Dressings that must be played early on, but even that can be forfeited, allowing players who have no interest in strategy games to bypass it and carry on with the main adventure. Obviously, I hope people at least try Dressings of Fruits and Veggies, but I don’t want to force them to play a style of game they don’t like.
